Global Container Services Limited was founded in 1983, and provides worldwide freight forwarding, Customs clearance and warehousing services to a wide range of customers.

We pride ourselves in being flexible in our business approach and offer high quality services to the shipping industry.

Our services include general freight forwarding, import and export to/from many key worldwide markets, specialising in seafreight and also offering airfreight.

Customs clearance facilities continue to be a key area of our business; our Customs clearance department are a team of highly experienced dedicated freight professionals, able to deal with any clearance requirement. We have invested in direct clearance facilities at all main sea ports in the UK.

We are involved in many cross trade movements worldwide, we are used to dealing with this type of movement and can act as a third party agent in any cross trade shipments as required.

Of course like most freight forwarders, we deal with many different commodities and Customs regulations on a day to day basis, but we offer speciality services in handling frozen vegetables & fresh fruit arriving in reefer containers for clearance and onward delivery to cold stores, where we have built up a good reputation in the market. Other specialities include handling loading and unloading of motor vehicles and we use special equipment for cost effective multiple loading, and arranging export movements for out of gauge project cargo.

Global operates a number of different warehouse solutions, depending upon individual requirements:
Our own ERTS (enhanced remote transit shed) for receiving full groupage containers which are then bonded for clearance and devan.
We also operate third party warehousing with various partners nationally, this facility is suitable for both bonded and cleared cargo, and would offer a cost effective solution for pick and pack or as a long term storage facility.
Global also offer long term storage facility for loaded containers, again these can be bonded awaiting clearance or for cleared cargo. This facility is within 5 minutes of the ports themselves, and can save hundreds of pounds on expensive port storage fees.

We operate cost effective movements to and from many other European countries, these include Ireland, Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Romania, Turkey, Norway, Sweden and Finland. We can offer fiscal representation in the UK for any movements transiting the UK and destined for another EU country and this can often be more cost effective than direct.
