Submitting Declared Value for Bangladesh Custom effective on 1st August 2019

01-08-2019

We would like to inform you as mandated in the Order (File No – 05 KAS-12(04) NI: PO:/courier/Part-2/2012/9916(4) dated 30.06.19) from Bangladesh Customs. Starting from 1 August 2019, all air cargo must declare the value of imported goods (“Declared Value for Customs”) in the electronic or paper air waybill submission to Bangladesh Customs.

The new requirements are:
1.     Direct Shipments (i.e. shipments without a HAWB) - Declared Value for Customs to be provided in the MAWB
2.     Back to Back shipments (i.e. shipments with only one HAWB) - Declared Value for Customs to be provided in the HAWB and MAWB.
3.     Consolation shipments (i.e. shipments with more than one HAWB) - Declared Value for Customs to be provided in all the
HAWBs and total value in MAWB.
4.     Courier shipments with HAWBs - Declared Value for Customs to be provided in all the HAWBs and total value in MAWB.

On the Electronic / Paper AWB the Declared Value for Customs should be provided in the “Declared Value for Customs” box. NCV (No Customs Value) should not be used.

Failure to provide the Declared Value for Customs as required by Customs may result in shipments being held, penalties or legal action by Bangladesh Customs, therefore, we request that our Business Partners ensure that they provide the requested information for all their shipments
