Global Shipping Services Handles Another Project of Cobra Attack Helicopters

Entrusted with another shipment of military Cobra attack helicopters, Global Shipping Services teamed up with highly trained master riggers and Portus Terminal, to move four multimillion dollar helicopters through JAXPORT’s (Jacksonville, Florida) heavy lift and specialty cargo berth, one of the nation’s highest weight-bearing capacity docks.

The helicopters are 50 feet in length and weigh 10,000 pounds each. The helicopters, which arrived at JAXPORT from the Middle East, are owned by a U.S. ally. Global Shipping Services further arranged a seamless trucking operation directly to the customer’s facility in the U.S. Southeast for refurbishing. Each helicopter will receive $10 million in upgrades before being shipped back to the Mideast.

Watch video of the move, including an interview with the freight forwarder.
